Imagine a day where a child’s eyes light up with wonder, where they laugh, explore, and feel completely included in an experience they might never have thought possible. At Join the Fun Foundation, that’s exactly what we aim to make happen—one grant at a time.
Our grants are about more than financial support, they’re about opening doors. Doors to sensory-friendly events, outings in the community, tools that make activities accessible, and support that allows every child to participate fully. We believe that joy and exploration shouldn’t be limited by barriers. Every child deserves the chance to discover, play, and create memories with their family.
Who Can Apply
Our grants are designed for families who:
- Have a child with a disability or developmental difference
- Want to take part in community outings, recreational activities, or special experiences
- Could use a little help making these experiences accessible
Even though our home base is in Pennsylvania, our reach stretches far and wide, families in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Texas can apply. Funds are typically sent directly to the vendors or service providers, so families can focus on the experience, not the logistics.
We do have a few rules: a child may receive one grant per year, and approval depends on available funding and alignment with our mission. But when a grant is awarded, it can transform a regular day into something unforgettable.
It’s important to note that each child may receive one grant per calendar year, and while we wish we could help everyone, funding is limited and approval is not guaranteed.
Grant Opportunities That Make an Impact
The majority of our grants are announced opportunities, Featured Grants that we have already secured funding for.
For families with a specific experience in mind, we also offer Family Request Grants. These grants can help fund:
- Admission and participation fees
- Specialized adaptations or sensory-friendly tools
- Outing kits tailored to your child’s needs
- Professional or trained support for community activities
- Hosted events, including group activities or special outings
If you need trained support, you have the flexibility to choose your own providers—or you can access support directly through our Join the Fun team.
How to Apply
Applying for a grant is simple:
- Complete our online application form.
- Share information about your child, the experience you’re requesting, and any special considerations.
- Submit supporting documents if needed, such as diagnosis documentation or proof of registration for an event.
Our team reviews every application carefully and aims to respond within 2–3 weeks. While we wish we could approve every request, funding is limited, and approvals are given to requests that align with our mission and are supported by available resources.
