Opening the Door to Fun, Connection, and Inclusion
For families of children with disabilities, everyday activities can come with unexpected barriers. Spaces aren’t always accessible, sensory environments can feel overwhelming, and many activities aren’t designed with inclusion in mind. Too often, these barriers prevent families from enjoying the very moments that make childhood magical.
Our founder, Lynne Shaffer, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 15 years of experience supporting children on the autism spectrum, has seen firsthand how barriers can keep families from fully experiencing life’s joyful moments. Since 2008, she has worked alongside families, witnessing their frustration and heartache when financial constraints, accessibility challenges, or a lack of support prevent their children from participating in experiences with their siblings or peers.
This understanding shapes everything we do. Fun isn’t just play, it’s the sparkle in a child’s eyes, the thrill of a new experience, and the reassurance that they belong in the moments that matter most.
To bring this mission to life, we focus on three key areas:
Experiences
Through our Fun Fund, we provide grants that open the door to new adventures. From trips to the zoo or museum, to sports, art, and special events, we help children explore, learn, and play in ways they might not otherwise have the chance to.
Access and Support
Inclusion often requires more than just a ticket, it requires the right support. We remove barriers by funding what families need to fully participate, whether that’s admission costs, adaptive tools, or a support professional to make the day successful.
Joyful Connections
We believe fun is better together. By hosting inclusive activities and supporting local events, we help families build a sense of community. These opportunities allow children to develop meaningful friendships, join in the fun, and create lasting memories with their peers.
Every grant, every activity, and every resource we provide is rooted in one simple belief: every child deserves to experience joy, connection, and the freedom to play, without barriers standing in the way.
